In November 2025, the "Sky Grace Cup" International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament and Beijing TOP Rhythmic Gymnastics International Open 2025 were successfully held at the Shougang Ice Hockey Arena.
Initiated in 2021 by Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva (Алина Кабаева), the "Sky Grace Cup" International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament is one of the most influential international events in rhythmic gymnastics. This edition was held in conjunction with Beijing's newly launched sports event — the "Beijing TOP International Open". The organizing committee invited athletes, coaches, and judges from 28 countries and regions, with more than 130 Chinese and foreign athletes participating in the competitions. Multiple Olympic champions in rhythmic gymnastics also attended as honorary guests.
Tokyo Olympic medalist and Belarusian star Alina Harnasko won the individual all-around champion in this competition. "I am very pleased. This is what drives me. It's this kind of support, this kind of strength that I draw on. Of course, I give a lot, but I draw from all of this. And it's wonderful to reach this level, where judges, coaches, and great, famous athletes whom I looked up to, to hear their words of support and gratitude for rhythmic gymnastics today. It's very valuable!" Harnasko expressed her feelings about the enthusiastic audience at the competition venue in an interview.
The competition also established junior and pre-junior categories, allowing the audience to see the rich talent reserves of various countries. Such high-level events will surely bring more attention to the rhythmic gymnastics project.
A Spectacular Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony also featured a range of highlights, including performances by Chinese and Russian artists. Chinese soprano Yin Xiumei and world-renowned bass opera singer Ildar Abdrazakov presented a chorus of "Evening in Moscow Suburbs".
At the awards ceremony, Kabaeva said: "Our fifth anniversary international tournament was the largest in its history. This year, more than 200 athletes from over 30 countries participated in it. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every gymnast for their courage, hard work, and desire to develop this wonderful sport. You achieved incredible results, and each of your performances was unique and memorable. Special thanks to the coaches. Thanks to your professionalism and patience, new stars of rhythmic gymnastics are growing. I also thank the judges for their impartiality and attentiveness. Your objective judging is the key to a fair competition. The tournament is over, but it will remain in our hearts forever! See you at the next competition!"
